Bayern Munich is reportedly closing in on a new partnership deal with well-regarded French development club FC Montfermeil — and beating out Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in the process.

Bayern are set to sign a partnership deal with FC Montfermeil, a club based in the suburbs of Paris, around 15km from the French capital. FC Montfermeil specializes in the development of youth talent and are considered one of the best training
clubs in France. A delegation from Bayern traveled to the Île-de-France region at the beginning of August to finalize the details of the cooperation.
This partnership marks a strategic shift for Bayern – the German champions now want to have control over the big talent pool that emerges in the Parisian suburbs. PSG were also interested in doing a deal with FC Montfermeil, which is why the deal with Bayern dragged on. But barring an unexpected turn of events, the deal with Bayern will be finalized at the next meeting between the two sides
The club was the subject of a recent HBO Max Original documentary called Now or Never: FC Montfermeil. It will be interesting to see if this creates pathways for young French talent to come to Bayern.
