Inter legend Beppe Bergomi has told the Nerazzurri that Alessandro Bastoni should not be sold on the cheap this summer amid interest from Barcelona.
Bastoni has had a tough time in 2026. He was told to leave the country after being sent off for Italy during World Cup qualifying and has also faced boos from supporters for his role in a controversial red card for Pierre Kalulu against Juventus.
Bergomi was asked if the newly-crowned champions should sell the defender and replied: “It depends on the offers.
“He has great value; you can’t just sell him off cheaply. I see him doing well in Spain and in the Premier League.
“In addition to injuries, he was subjected to unjustified public shaming. He made a mistake, but he took responsibility for it.”
Inter have acknowledged Barcelona’s interest in Bastoni this week but have also insisted he wants to stay and they are hoping to keep him at San Siro.
