Clippers 6, Cubs 3
Kahlil Watson and Ralphy Velazquez both hit homers (Ralphy’s went to the moon). Cooper Ingle went 2 for 4 with a double. The ghost of Trevor Stephan struckout two in a scoreless ninth. Poor Stephan has an 8.71 ERA at Columbus, a stark reminder that there are no guarantees you’ll be able to find it after Tommy John.
Rubber Ducks 14, Flying Squirrels 6
Some real hitting stars shone for the Ducks on Sunday with Nolan Schubart going 2 for 4 with a home run, Aaron Walton going 2 for 3
with a homer and a walk, Jace LaViolette going 3 for 5 with a double, and Dean Curley going 2 for 5 with a double. Bennett Thompson ALSO went 3 for 5 with three singles. Ryan Cesarini didn’t have a hit but did have two walks and still has an OPS north of 1.000. The Ducks have 7 games left but will not make the postseason this year, currently h0lding a 66-63 record on the year.
Loons 4, Captains 2
The Captains finished their season with a loss, but still went 69-59 on the campaign. Jose Pirela had another three hits, finishing with a .986 OPS for the season and Cannon Peebles had three walks and finished with a .928 OPS. Harrison Bodendorf got the loss but did strikeout six in four and two-thirds finishing with a 4.05 ERA on the season.
Howlers 10, RidgeYaks 7
A nice start for Guardians’ 2026 draftee Tre Broussard as he went 3 for 5 with a home run, and Rainer Herrera and Alejandro Garza also went 3 for 5. The Howlers played their final game here, going 56-75, perhaps the only Guardians’ affiliate in Single-A and above to finish with a losing record depending on how Akron’s week goes.
