In Dodgers minor league games played Thursday, September 11th, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes’ lights were turned off, and the other Dodger affiliates went quietly into the night.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Sacramento River Cats (Giants) defeated the Oklahoma City Comets 8-1. The only note of interest for this game is that Dalton Rushing caught and batted fifth, getting a double in four at-bats.
Double-A Tulsa
The Arkansas Travelers held on to beat the Tulsa Drillers 7-5. After giving up four runs in the top of the ninth inning, the Drillers tried to come back in the bottom of the inning, getting four straight hits with two outs, but falling short when Yeiner Fernandez popped out to first with the tying runs on base. Chris Newell had two hits, including his 20th home run. Josue De Paula went 0 for 4 and is 0 for his first 14 Double-A at-bats. After being hitless in his first seven Double-A at-bats, Zyhir Hope broke through with his first hit, a double.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were eliminated by the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels), losing the game 11-5, and the series 2-0. Things didn’t start well for the Quakes, as three batters into the game, they were down 2-0, after a walk and a home run by Harold Coll. The Quakes couldn’t catch up, and a seven-run seventh inning turned the game into a rout. Ching-Hsien Ko left a good ending impression with a double and a home run, and Emil Morales also contributed a home run.
