Barcelona’s injury crisis claimed it’s latest victim this week as star midfielder Pedri was ruled out for the foreseeable future.
The situation is a real issue for Hansi Flick and was reportedly one reason
why he gave four of his first-team players some extra rest this week, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Marcus Rashford, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Koundé and Pau Cubarsi were all noticeable absentees on the training ground on Wednesday – after being allowed an extra day off.
The four players have accumulated the most minutes under Flick but are being monitored carefully in a bid to try and prevent any more injuries.
Rashford used his time to head back to Manchester where he hit the gym, posting an update on social media.
All four players will be expected to feature again on Sunday when Barcelona return to La Liga action against Elche.
Hansi Flick may also be able to call on Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo for the match as the duo have also been in training this week as they bid to return from injury issues.
