The draw for the 2025/26 Champions Leage Group phase has finished, and Bayern Munich found out who their opponents are. Aware of who the team will face, Bayern goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer broke down his thoughts on each of the eight teams that his club drew (via @iMiaSanMia).
“Chelsea is always a strong opponent; they just won the Club World Cup. We know PSG from many matches – it’s always special to play against the best teams. Club Brugge made it through qualifying without any problems.
Our coach will prepare us well for this opponent and for Union Saint-Gilloise. Arsenal are strong, so we need good positional play and have to be brave with the ball. We haven’t played against Sporting very often. PSV are champions of the Netherlands and have always had German players like Paul Wanner in their team. Saint-Gilloise and Pafos are participating for the first time, so it will be important that we don’t underestimate these teams,” said Neuer.
Bayern will host Chelsea FC, Club Brugge, Sporting Clube Portugal, and Union Saint-Gilloise, while they (Bayern) will travel away to Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal FC, PSV Eindhoven, and Pafos FC. The exact schedule for each match is yet to be determined.
