Kansas City Chiefs final 2025 53-man roster projection | ESPN
WIDE RECEIVERS (6): Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jalen Royals, Tyquan Thornton.
At some point, Rice is expected to be suspended by the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy. But it’s unclear if Rice and the league will settle their disagreement on the length of his suspension before Sept. 30, the day he is scheduled to have his disciplinary hearing with the league. Rice’s inclusion in the start
of the season means the Chiefs keep six receivers and hope to sign Nikko Remigio to the practice squad.
The Chiefs offense impressed a lot of people last night
The Chiefs’ starters go nuclear, prove they’re ready for Week 1
If the first quarter is any indication of what we’re getting from the starting offense and defense this season, there are going to be a lot of national analysts retracting their takes on the Chiefs in the coming weeks. The offense was practically flawless through one quarter, picking up 12 first downs, committing no penalties, with 193 net yards and 10 points scored. Patrick Mahomes averaged over 11 yards per passing attempt. Tyquan Thornton caught a 58-yard bomb. Trey Smith was collecting bodies. It was a sight to behold.
The defense wasn’t half bad either, holding the Bears’ starting offense to 26 total yards, for an average of 2.9 yards per play. They managed a sack, forced two punts, and forced a false start penalty. Needless to say, if these two units play this well simultaneously during the regular season, this is going to be a tough football team to beat.
Travis Kelce Shared Special Moment With Former Coach Before Bears-Chiefs Game | SI
The game carries a special weight as Kansas City is set to face ex-offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who was hired as the Bears’ new running backs coach this past February following a yearlong stint at UCLA. Bieniemy, who spent a decade coaching the Chiefs alongside Andy Reid (five years as running backs coach, five years as offensive coordinator), will now face his former team on the other end of the sidelines.
Ahead of the preseason matchup, Kansas City star tight end Travis Kelce shared a sweet hug with Bieniemy, and the two chatted for a bit:

49ers pull off trade for disgruntled Commanders star | Yardbarker
The 49ers and Commanders agreed to terms on a Robinson trade Friday, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. A 2026 sixth-round pick will head the other way as a result of the swap. San Francisco had been in the market for a backfield addition, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Efforts to pull off a move have now paid off ahead of roster cutdowns. Washington will retain a portion of Robinson’s 2025 salary
It recently became clear Washington was looking to move on from Robinson, who did not dress in the team’s second preseason game, with a trade looming. The team’s Dan Quinn-Adam Peters regime has been open to a trade since last year, and with a swap now agreed to it will proceed with its other in-house RB options. Washington has veteran Austin Ekeler in the fold along with 2023 draftee Chris Rodriguez and seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who has enjoyed a strong training camp.
Micah Parsons watches from sidelines as Cowboys finish preseason | ESPN
At 4:35 p.m. CT, roughly two and a half hours before kickoff of Friday night’s preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons, Parsons walked down the hall to the Cowboys locker room eating nachos. An Atlanta fan taking a tour of the stadium shouted to him “Come to the Falcons,” which prompted Parsons to make a ‘call me’ sign to his ears.
As he approached the locker room doors, he made a similar gesture as fans cheered for him.
During the game, Parsons was the only player not to wear a jersey on the sidelines. He instead wore a navy hoodie with grey sleeves and a winter hat. To start the third quarter, Parsons laid down on the medical table behind the bench as the Cowboys’ offense drove down the field.

Chiefs-Bears rapid reaction: Suamataia settles in, offense shines
At least for three series of one preseason game, the explosive offense indeed looked “back.”
With proper protection, Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense finally looked like that old, explosive Chiefs offense — the one that could light up the scoreboard early and instantly put games out of reach.
Early in the game, Kansas City featured rookie Brashard Smith, appearing to be a weapon Reid will find creative ways to implement, opening things up for the team’s seemingly limitless arsenal. Mahomes’ 58-yard completion to Tyquan Thornton felt like the breath of fresh air he has been seeking for a long time.
Tight end Travis Kelce confirmed to reporters that he came to training camp lighter, and on Friday night, he showed glimpses of that pre-2024 Kelce as he caught two passes for 32 yards. Running back Isiah Pacheco looked like his old self, running so violently down the left sideline that he crashed headfirst into a wall and garbage can.
Kansas City’s brass has believed for a long time that if Mahomes felt protected — and his playmakers were healthy — he would return to MVP form. On Friday night, the quarterback seemed like he was finally playing free. He was one Kareem Hunt drop away from finishing 3-for-3 on touchdown drives.
So, is the Chiefs’ offense back? It needs to carry over into the regular season — but in the final preseason game, it sure looked like it.
