Barcelona have issued an update on Lamine Yamal’s injury after Hansi Flick confirmed the teenager will miss Sunday’s La Liga match with Valencia.
The German boss took aim at Spain for playing Yamal twice over the international break, despite the problem, and also confirmed he’s a doubt for the Newcastle match on Thursday in the Champions League.
Barcelona have since offered an update which reads as follows:
“Lamine Yamal is experiencing discomfort in the pubic area and is currently unable to train or play.
His return to training will depend on how his condition evolves.”
The news is a huge blow to Barcelona and the Catalans will be hoping Yamal can return to training as soon as possible.
Diario AS state the Yamal is “practically ruled out” of the Champions League game at St James’ Park, although his injury could spell good news for Roony Bardghji.
The youngster has yet to feature competitively for Barcelona since his summer move but has been registered and could now make his La Liga debut for the club.
