After announcing that Adam Aznou will be going to Malaga on loan for the rest of the 2026-27 season, Everton are closing in on a sale of Nathan Patterson to Torino in Italy’s Serie A. As reported by The Bobble just minutes ago, the Scotsman will be moving to Turin on a permanent transfer with a medical scheduled for today, transfer deadline day.
This leaves Vitaliy Mykolenko as the sole specialist fullback on the entire squad, with still no right back signed nor a back up for the Ukraine international either.
Yesterday it was looking like Everton were close to signing Fulham’s Kenny Tete, but with reports that Rayo Vallecano had refused to let his proposed replacement Andrei Rațiu go, their manager Alvaro Arbeloa had refused to be left with only Timothy Castagne as his sole right back. Ironically, the Toffees had been linked with a move for the Belgian as well.
Meanwhile, another name that the Blues had been linked with has been snapped up as well. RGC Nice left back Melvin Bard will be heading to Leeds United on a loan deal for €1M, with a buy option for €5M. With Aznou gone that leaves the Blues with no backups on left side, and Merlin Rohl likely filling in as right back with James Garner back up for that spot.
Everton’s inability to fill the right back spot after so many transfer windows of futility is truly mindboggling at this point.
