Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaches hit the road to see some 2027 recruits this last week. With the 2026 recruiting class in the rear view mirror the Huskies have now honed their attention to put
the following touches on their portal class and the 2027 class. Here is a look at some of the players the Husky coaches saw this last week:
4 star defensive back Gavin Williams from Damien HS, CA was visited by Defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and safeties coach Taylor Mays. Williams, who is rated as the 8th best safety in the country, is one of the top safeties on the Huskies board in the 2027 class. The Huskies are battling USC, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. The Huskies have been very active in their pursuit of Williams and as of right now it’s a toss up for where he will commit (though it does sound like USC has the slight edge as of now).
Along the offensive line the Huskies visited 3 star offensive tackle Benjamin Lowther from Centennial HS, AZ and 3 star offensive tackle Gecova Doyal from Puyallup HS, WA. Lowther recently de-committed from Stanford and has been a priority target for the Huskies for a while (he’s rated as the 35th best offensive tackle in the 2027 class). Doyal is the top offensive lineman in the state in the 2027 class and is a player the Husky staff has been after for a while. Doyal, who is rated as the 25th best offensive tackle in the 2027 class by 247sports, is being heavily pursued by Miami, Oregon, and Texas A&M. The Husky staff has made a concerted effort in-state recently and Doyal is another massive target for them.
The Husky staff also made a visit to St John Bosco HS, CA. Bosco, which is one of the top programs in the state of California has a ton of recruits each and every year that hold FBS offers and in the 2027 class the Huskies have extended 6 offers already to Bosco players. Among those the Huskies are most heavily after 4 star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, who we have talked about here before, and 3 star linebacker Josiah Poyer. Both players have received significant interest from major programs around the country and the Huskies are trying to reel both players in.
It sounds like Husky coaches will continue to hit the road this next week and as those visits occur we will make sure to share that news here. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
