The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Marquette Golden Eagles in the I-94 rivalry on Saturday, with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin kicked off its Big Ten schedule with a win,
beating the Northwestern Wildcats 85-73 on Wednesday, thanks to a first half where they had 55 points.
John Blackwell was the star, dropping 26 points and 11 rebounds, while reaching 1,000 career points on the night. Wisconsin also made a change in the starting lineup, going to Aleksas Bieliauskas over Austin Rapp. The freshman big man had six points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
Marquette has started off the season slowly, going 5-4 with losses to Indiana, Maryland, Dayton, and Oklahoma. They’re still looking for their first Power 4 win, and face a tough challenge with their rivals on Saturday.
Senior guard Chase Ross has been the breakout star for Marquette, averaging over 20 points per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field. As a team, the Golden Eagles like to play fast, but they haven’t been very efficient this season.
