Olivia Rodrigo met with the FC Barcelona Femení squad at the Ciutat Esportiva on Saturday, following a personal request from the American singer to see the team in person.
The meeting took place around midday just after Pere Romeu’s side finished their training session. The visit comes only days after the players wore the special edition Spotify “Clásico” kit featuring Rodrigo’s logo during their league-clinching victory against Levante on Wednesday.
Barcelona won that match 5-0 with goals from Vicky
López, Clàudia Pina (twice), Carla Julià Martínez, and Sydney Schertenleib. The shirt is part of Barcelona’s ongoing collaboration with Spotify, which has resulted in several artists’ logos gracing the front.
The visit capped off a busy stretch for the pop star in the Catalan capital. On Friday night, she performed an exclusive set at the Teatre Grec, where several members of the first team, including Kika Nazareth, Esmee Brugts, Clara Serrajordi, Aïcha Camara, and Adriana Ranera, were in attendance. Afterwards, the singer reportedly sought out the visit to the club’s training facilities to congratulate the recently crowned league champions.
Rodrigo’s current commercial footprint is reaching a fever pitch. She recently added 25 more dates to her upcoming “The Unraveled Tour” due to massive demand, and her residency at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona has already made history. By selling out four nights at the venue, she has joined U2 as one of the only non-Spanish acts to reach that milestone.
Her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live pulled in nearly 5 million viewers, the second-highest total for the show this season, as she prepares for the June 12 launch of her third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
