Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong is going to have quite the trophy collection this year.
He was named Baseball America’s Player of the Year earlier this month.
Today, the MLB Players Association announced several awards, and PCA was named its Player of the Year, in a vote of players. Here’s what the MLBPA says about their awards:
Since 1992, the Players Choice Awards have celebrated excellence across Major League Baseball, recognizing performance, leadership, perseverance, and impact on and off
the field. The awards are especially meaningful to players, because they’re determined through a vote of their peers.
In addition, PCA was named NL Outstanding Player (Yordan Alvarez of the Astros won that award for the AL). You can see the other winners at the link above.
Coming up for PCA should be more awards, including a Gold Glove, possibly the Platinum Glove, a Silver Slugger and the NL MVP, all of those will be announced next month.
There are so many highlights from PCA’s magnificent season that it’s hard to pick just one to show you, and obviously there will be more articles to show him off. Today, enjoy his three-homer game against the Reds Aug. 29 [VIDEO].
Congratulations, PCA. There will be more to come!
