Bayern Munich has had some memorable, high-octane clashes against Paris Saint-Germain in recent times. That is now set to continue and it will be the biggest stage yet: this year’s Champions League semifinals round.
“It’s not going to be an easy match,” Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano declared in post-match comments captured via @iMiaSanMia. “PSG have a very good team with a superb coach [Luis Enrique]. They play very good football; we’ve played them before. We know what to expect, and we’re going to do
everything we can to win there in Paris, before we host them at home.”
Bayern may have already faced the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid in the competition this season — as well as PSG — but this one will be a do-or-die. And unlike recently vanquished Real, the Parisians have both talent and teamwork in abundance. It is a case of two clubs staring in the mirror: on the other side, a club that is dominant in its domestic league and has the highest ambitions in Europe, with the pedigree to back it up.
Paris won it all last season. Is it Bayern’s turn?
