The Baltimore Ravens elevated linebacker Chandler Martin and cornerback Amani Oruwariye from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, per the NFL’s transaction wire.
Martin, an undrafted rookie out of Memphis, will make his NFL debut on Sunday afternoon replacing fellow UDFA LB Jay Higgins on special teams. Higgins suffered a knee injury in Week 10 against the Vikings and was placed on injured reserve on Saturday.
Martin impressed in the preseason, but was narrowly edged out
by Higgins for a roster spot. If he turns in a solid performance against the Browns, he will likely be elevated for future games while Higgins is on IR.
Oruwariye, 29, will provide cornerback depth with Marlon Humphrey sidelined after having a pin inserted to correct a dislocated finger earlier this week. Oruwariye was signed at the beginning of October when the Ravens cornerback room was dealing with multiple injuries, though he did not appear in a game. Sunday’s visit to Cleveland will be his 2025 debut, as well as his first game in purple and black.
