Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats have finally filled their final assistant coaching position with Alfred Aboya.
Aboya played college ball at UCLA from 2005-2009, where he totaled over 700 points and 500 rebounds as a Bruin and was named to the Pac-10 All-Defense Team. He began coaching in 2019 as an assistant and player development coach with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League.
Since then, Aboya has served as an assistant to the Cameroon Men’s National Team during the FIBA 2021 Afrobasket and as a coach
for the NBA Academy of Africa in 2022. Aboya was also named the head coach of the NBA Academy of Africa for the 2023 BAL qualification games.
With an excellent career as a player and coach, Aboya has positioned himself around some of the best and most intriguing prospects coming up in all of basketball in the near future.
Well worth the wait, in my opinion. I’m very excited to have Coach Aboya on staff, but enough of what I have to say. What are people on Twitter saying about the hire?
