Back in March, Ohio Valley Wrestling and independent wrestling referee Dallas Edwards made headlines when Edwards suffered a brain injury taking a planned bump in a televised match. The match continued well past the point it was clear Edwards wasn’t just selling, and eventually led to OVW co-owner Al Snow issuing a statement detailing specific steps the promotion would take to ensure any similar incidents that occur there going forward will be handled differently.
Edwards also put out a message of
his own indicating that he was on the road back, asking his fellow wrestling professionals to “to get some sort of training in assisting another’s life”, and announcing some time away from the business.
But Dallas quietly returned recently, and went public with his comeback yesterday (June 4):
I have been fully cleared recently and am back to reffing!
The recovery hasn’t been an easy one. But there have been some amazing people in my circle that went above and beyond to make sure that I wasn’t alone.
You all know who you are.
I want every one of you to know that I am eternally grateful for your love, and support through a really tough time. With that being said, I will be resuming my schedule from before and taking additional bookings accordingly!!
