The Pittsburgh Steelers enter another offseason with questions at quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is coming off a respectable season that ended with the Steelers winning the AFC North, and his long-time head
coach with the Green Bay Packers, Mike McCarthy, is now the head coach in Pittsburgh.
During his introductory press conference, McCarthy said he “definitely” wants Rodgers back in 2026. And while the Steelers were very patient with Rodgers last offseason, that reportedly won’t be the case this year.
Per Jeff Hathorn, the Steelers are giving Aaron Rodgers a month to make his decision on whether he will return to the Steelers.
“Our Steelers insider Jeff Hathorn says Omar Khan let Aaron Rodgers know that they need a decision ‘in a month,’” Andrew Fillipponi posted on X. “So before free agency. That’s a far cry from last year.”
Considering the lack of proven quarterbacks on the free-agent market or in trade talks, the Steelers being a bit more stern with Rodgers about needing a decision makes sense.
