The Tennessee Volunteers wasted no time in addressing arguably the worst roster area on their team through the transfer portal.
Tennessee has received the pledge of Kansas State safety Qua Moss, per On3
Sports’ Hayes Fawcett.
Moss visited Knoxville over the weekend, and it appears he liked what he saw and the offer he received from Tennessee.
Tennessee’s safety simply wasn’t good enough in 2025. That Jakobe Thomas went to Miami and became a flat-out star this year is an additional shot to the gut for the season. Now, with Tennessee’s best safety from this season in Jalen McMurray out of eligibility, the Vols desperately need some experienced help at the position. Moss is a great place to start to start to patch up that part of the defense for next year.
Moss spent his first year at Dodge City Community College before going to the University of West Georgia for the 2024 season. He jumped to Kansas State, where he posted 41 combined tackles, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a sack for the Wildcats last season.
It’s a great first step for Josh Heupel and Jim Knowles, but there’s plenty of work left to do to turn around what we saw last year. Welcome to Knoxville, Qua!
