Louisville kicked off the holiday break in style with a 94-54 thumping of Montana Saturday afternoon inside the KFC Yum Center.
The Cards dominated inside against their much smaller visitors, out-rebounding
the Grizzlies by 23 and out-scoring them by 24 in the paint.
Sananda Fru led the charge, scoring a season-high 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He also added 7 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Backup center Aly Khalifa also made a positive impact, dishing out 6 assists, scoring 5 points and recording 3 steals.
Isaac McKneely broke out of his recent mini shooting slump, knocking down 4 of 6 three-point attempts and scoring 16 points. Ryan Conwell (14), J’Vonne Hadley (13) and Khani Rooths also scored in double figures.
The U of L defense frustrated Montana throughout the afternoon, forcing the Grizz into 19 turnovers and limiting them to 32.0 percent shooting from the field.
With the victory, Louisville improved to 285-0 all-time when scoring 90 or more points at home.
