Marc-Andre ter Stegen has praised Barcelona and the incredible start to the season they have made under Hansi Flick.
The goalkeeper is spending theseason on loan at Ajax but was asked about his parent club after playing for Germany in the Nations League against the Netherlands on Thursday.
“They’re unstoppable right now. They are working hard with Hansi as a coach,” he told reporters.
“From a distance I always wish them the best, but now I’m at another club and focused on my thing, always looking at what
they’re doing. I’m very happy for them.”
Ter Stegen is back playing after a tough time with injuries and is determined to keep hold of the No. 1 jersey for the national team and his club side.
“My goal is always to be number 1. I want to always be 100% and up to the task and today was a good time to show it again. I also have a lot to improve and I have to adapt to what the coach asks,” he added.
Germany drew 1-1 in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge and play again on Sunday against Greece.
