Lead Rumor: The Rock is reeling
We haven’t heard much from The Rock in the pro wrestling space for a while, and some may be just fine with that considering how it went last time he came around. But his future in Hollywood is looking a bit murkier than it maybe ever has.
That’s the word from RadarOnline, who claim sources saying Dwayne Johnson is taking it very personally that Moana underperformed so badly at the box office. What’s more he’s apparently “questioning every decision, every project,
and every move.”
It’s hard to imagine that path will lead him back to WWE. After all, he’s 54-years-old. Then again, WrestleMania next year will be taking place in Saudi Arabia, and surely there will be plenty of money being thrown around for the biggest and best names to be on the card.
Could that include The Rock?
Who knows such things. Vin Diesel, a worker in his own right, has claimed they’ll be shooting the final Fast & Furious movie in December. If true, could Rocky even make it work timing wise?
Either way, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for one of Hollywood’s biggest stars of the past decade.
Other rumors floating around
- If there was anyone questioning as much, False Finish claims Roman Reigns is currently listed as a heel internally at WWE.
- They also say Rey Mysterio personally advocated for El Fiscal to be a part of the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament.
- During the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Dr. Britt Baker’s status with AEW. Sapp said he hadn’t heard anything about Baker being sidelined with an injury, but did say that Baker’s name came up in discussions about Sept. 9’s tribute show for Rebel. He hasn’t heard about anything regarding Baker beyond that, though.
- For what it’s worth, Paul Wight told Inside the Ring that there have been times AEW would have run an arena but couldn’t do to contractual agreements between the venue and WWE.
