On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll keeps her 2026 NFL Draft series going with an interview with Jacob Goins of Locked on Hoosiers to talk about several prospects from the Indiana Hoosiers National Championship team. They start with wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., then move to the defense, discussing corner D’Angelo Ponds, EDGE Mikail Kamara, and linebacker Aiden Fisher.
The Bears did host Kamara on a Top 30 visit, and while he’s a smaller defensive end than what Dennis Allen usually
targets at 6’1″, 250, he has pass-rush upside as a day-three pick.
Ponds is another guy who is a bit smaller (5’9″, 182), and a move to nickel may be in the cards, but he more than held his own outside for the Hoosiers.
“He prides himself on one-on-one man-to-man,” Goins said about Ponds. “It’s either going to be tight, we’ll drop back and play, but there’s not a whole lot of safety help here for D’Angelo Ponds. I mean, he is somebody you just you put him out there and you never had to worry about him. Most of the time, funny enough, you forgot he was there because he was so good and locked down whichever receiver he was playing that you just never heard his name a whole lot. That’s why his stats in terms of his pass deflections and interceptions and things like that, they’re just not all that crazy because teams were like, ‘Nah, we’re good. We’ll throw to the other side of the field.'”
Give Taylor’s show a listen in either of the embeds below, and let us know if you hope any Indiana Hoosiers end up in Chicago.
