One of the biggest storylines surrounding Kentucky basketball right now is the health of Otega Oweh, who missed the end of summer workouts due to an unknown injury.
As it turns out, Oweh is dealing with a turf toe injury, he revealed Tuesday in an interview with Field of 68. It’s the same injury that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was recently diagnosed with, though his was more severe and required surgery, while Oweh will thankfully avoid that. Oweh actually spoke with Dr. Robert Anderson, the same foot
specialist Burrow contacted this week.
Oweh added that he should be good to go in about two weeks. If that timeline holds, then Oweh will miss a portion of fall practices, which are currently ongoing.
A Sea Of Blue was recently told by a source that Oweh should be back for Big Blue Madness, which is less than four weeks away on October 11th.
Let’s hope this injury is fully healed by then and not something that lingers into the regular season.
