According to some information I am seeing, the Los Angeles Rams ask their wide receiver to block, but not just block, block a lot. It’s part of their role. It makes me wonder if any rookies would rather not go to L.A. as they’d rather just focus on catching, and not so much blocking.
Food for thought.
The fact that the Rams need blocking to be a part of their WR’s game means they have that much more work to do to ensure a receiver can fit and check each box the Rams need, and not just the catching
part.
The draft is coming, we’ll see if and who the Rams deem worthy, or who they’ll trust to fit their scheme. Exciting times.
Hey, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times! I’ve been a little under the weather, so forgive me for not posting as usual, but we’ll get through it, we’ll get through it.
Have a great Tuesday!
New chart shows Rams ask receivers to block more than any other team (ramswire)
“The Los Angeles Rams led the NFL in scoring a year ago thanks to the skill of quarterback Matthew Stafford and the rest of the team, as well as the play-calling from head coach Sean McVay. He’s developed a system that thrives when executed properly, and the Rams consistently been at the top of the NFL in offensive production because of it.
One of the hallmarks of McVay’s offense is his receivers’ willingness to block. It’s why guys like Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are lauded for their ability on the field, and it’s another reason why the Rams leaned into multi-tight end sets in 2025.“

“The Los Angeles Rams are going into next season with a lot of upgrades in the areas that they needed. That is going to give them a great roster and a great chance to be successful once again. This time, the Rams want to be playing for a Super Bowl and winning it.
They could do it again in their own home stadium, and it will be another Super Bowl win in Los Angeles. The Rams have huge plans for next season, but they also know they have to improve on the things that went wrong last season.“
Rams might be closer to drastic Puka Nacua move than it seems (ramblinfan)
“The Los Angeles Rams have publicly backed star wide receiver Puka Nacua through a string of off-field incidents. However, the club is ostensibly supporting him while exercising caution regarding his long-term future, based on some eye-opening intel from Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.
Rodrigue notes the Rams have “made it clear publicly and even more firmly behind the scenes in recent weeks” that Nacua must show better judgment ($). The two-time All-Pro is extension-eligible, though his behavior needs to improve “to earn the type of contract his league-leading play would typically merit.”
