Tyran Stokes is the undisputed top player in the 2026 high school basketball recruiting class.
According to 247 Sports, Stokes stands at 6-7 and weighs 230 pounds with a 99 overall rating.
He has drawn comparisons
to NBA stars such as Jayson Tatum and Scottie Barnes, noting his elite athleticism, playmaking, and versatility.
Stokes has been heavily recruited by both Kentucky basketball head coach Mark Pope and assistant Jason Hart.
Despite having several high-profile recruits in Lexington this weekend for Big Blue Madness, Stokes will NOT be in attendance.
Rivals’ Joe Tipton believes Kentucky holds the edge to land the No. 1 overall recruit.
While he has not announced a decision date, there’s a chance Stokes makes his announcement very soon.
Tipton believes Kentucky has made a lot of progress with Stokes and “has the momentum” in his recruitment and thought a decision could come today.
However, considering there a decision date has yet to be announced, it’s far from a guarantee that an announcement comes this weekend.
