Barcelona have confirmed that Dani Rodriguez will miss the next three months of action after being stretchered off at the weekend while playing for Juliano Belletti’s side against Barbastro.
The teenager has suffered a “partial rupture of the quadriceps tendon” and Barcelona had been weighing up whether he should go under the knife.
However, the decision has now been taken to proceed with conservative treatment. Yet it still means that Rodriguez will be sidelined for some time, and he’s not now expected
back until May.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“Barça Atlètic player Dani Rodriguez has a partial rupture of the quadriceps tendon in his right leg He will undergo conservative treatment and the expected recovery time is around three months.”
The news is another another tough setback for Rodriguez and means he may well not feature again for Barcelona Atletic this season. Belletti’s side currently sit in fifth place in the table and are gunning for promotion.
