Barcelona are currently without Frenkie de Jong due to a hamstring injury picked up in training last month.
The Catalans confirmed at the time that De Jong would miss around six weeks of action, and he hasn’t played since the win over Levante in La Liga.
Hansi Flick has now given an update on the Netherlands international and expects him to return to action after the upcoming international break.
“We hope he will be back after the break. Everything is going well. I think he will be back after the national
team matches,” he told reporters.
Barcelona play Sevilla, Newcastle and Rayo before the break but domestic competition will then pause for the latest round of international fixtures.
Flick’s estimate means that De Jong should be available when Barcelona resume action in April against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
The Dutch star would also be available for the Champions League quarter-finals, provided Barcelona make it past Newcastle in the last 16.
