Welcome to the 2026 NFL Draft!
The Chargers entered the 2026 NFL Draft with five total picks. Entering the third and final day of the event, they now have nine total with seven of their picks coming in rounds four through seven.
In the first round, the Chargers hit on one of their two biggest needs by selecting Miami’s Akheem Mesidor. Then, still needing to add to the interior of the offensive line, they traded back in the second round from 55 to 63 and selected Florida center Jake Slaughter. Slaughter was
a true center in college but both Joe Hortiz and Jim Harbaugh believe his skillset will allow him to transition to guard as a rookie.
Now, some would say the “real” rounds of the draft begin, especially if you’re excited to see what new late round contributors Hortiz can find after crushing the last two drafts on the final day.
