(83-61) Indianapolis Indians @ (62-83) Gwinnett Stripers – 12:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
IND: Beau Burrows (1-1, 5.68 ERA)
GWI: Lucas Braun (1-1, 2.25 ERA)
The long remaining team in the minors for the Braves this season, continue their season as they take on the Indianapolis Indians as the Free Game of the Day for MLB.tv. Lucas Braun gets his third start in Triple-A where he has looked very strong in two starts. In his last start, on September 12th, Lucas navigated six innings against the Nashville Sounds and gave up just two hits and one earned run. While expectations
for Lucas were very high coming into the season, and he hasn’t quite lived up to those pre-season expectations, he’s still had a very strong season and has improved every year he’s been in minor league baseball (three years). He faces off against Beau Burrows who has pitched across four levels this season. While the overall numbers are solid, he’s struggled in 15 appearances in Triple-A with a 5.68 ERA. This will be his first start of the season.
Burrows will be facing a Stripers lineup that struggled in their 8-1 defeat yesterday. Despite six hits, Gwinnett went just 1-for-3 with runners in scoring position and stranded six. After starting off on fire for the Stripers, Jesús Bastidas has cooled down significantly, now down to a .723 OPS on the season with Gwinnett. The Stripers will need him, and David McCabe to get on track if they are to close out the season on a positive note.
