Good news for Bayern Munich ahead of tonight’s Champions League showdown with Arsenal — Vincent Kompany appears set to return to the dugout after battling a viral infection and hip issues.
According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Kompany was on the pitch for Bayern’s pre-match activation session at Säbener Straße on Wednesday morning, confirming that he will be available for the crucial clash at the Allianz Arena.
The Belgian coach had missed both Monday’s training session and
Tuesday’s preparations, with assistant coach Aaron Danks taking charge of the squad and handling media duties in his absence. There had been genuine uncertainty about whether Kompany would recover in time, particularly after reports of additional hip discomfort and physical weakness caused by his illness.
His return provides Bayern Munich with a welcome boost ahead of one of their biggest tests of the Champions League campaign. Kompany’s tactical preparation, touchline leadership, and ability to make adjustments during a match could prove particularly important against an Arsenal side that will demand concentration and discipline for the full 90 minutes.
Bayern Munich will still need to deliver on the pitch, but having their head coach back involved is an encouraging development. Now, the focus shifts to executing the game plan and securing a statement result against the Premier League opposition.
