Barcelona have confirmed that their next Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain will take place at Montjuic and not Camp Nou.
The Catalans had been hoping to return home in time for the match against the defending European champions on October 1st but unfortunately that’s not going to happen.
Here’s Barcelona’s official statement.
“FC Barcelona informs that the second match corresponding to the League phase of the Champions League, on Wednesday 1 October, at 9:00 p.m., against Paris Saint-Germain,
will be played at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
“The Club continues to work intensively to obtain the necessary administrative permits for the opening of Spotify Camp Nou in the near future.
“FC Barcelona thanks its members, fans and supporters for their understanding and support in a process as complex and exciting as the return to the new Spotify Camp Nou.”
Barcelona are still waiting for the City Council to give them the green light to return to Camp Nou, and there’s still no clear indication yet of when that will happen.
