As the NFL offseason rolls into mid-March, the Pittsburgh Steelers still have yet to get an answer from Aaron Rodgers on whether or not he will be coming back, and multiple former Steelers have begun to weigh in with their thoughts. Rod Woodson aired his frustration speaking on The Rich Eisen Show.
“Is he gonna play?” Woodson asked. “Listen, I get kinda tired of it. If he’s gonna play, say he’s gonna play [and that] he’s gonna come back. The team shouldn’t wait for Aaron Rodgers. They need to move
forward.”
Now, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has shared his thoughts on the matter. Speaking on his podcast Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the two-time Super Bowl champion made note of the Steelers’ offensive additions of Michael Pittman and Rico Dowdle, saying there is no way Rodgers doesn’t come back after seeing what Pittsburgh has done.
“How is Aaron not coming back when you have those kinds of weapons?,” Roethlisberger said. “Like, what are we doing? There is no way he is not coming back. No way.”
Roethlisberger then implored the four-time MVP to simply let the Steelers know so the speculation can end.
“Hey Aaron, just let us know, man,” Roethlisberger said. “You know you can do that and just say, ‘Yeah, I am coming back.'”
While it was said in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek tone, the sentiment is one that is shared by many fans and media alike who are hoping this doesn’t drag into late June as it did in 2025.
