The Philadelphia Eagles are 3.5-point road favorites in their Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday afternoon, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
This line originally opened with the Eagles
as 3.5-point favorites but it shifted to Eagles -4.5. Then it went back to Eagles -3.5 following the Dallas Cowboys’ comfortable win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.
The Dallas defense played their best game of the season; they only allowed 16 points and 236 yards. Their previous best in those categories were 22 points and 292 yards. The Cowboys had entered Week 11 allowing the second-most offensive points per game at 30.7 and the third-most yards per game at 381.3.
It’s quite possible the Cowboys’ defense looked better because the Raiders flat out stink. Las Vegas is 2-8 this season with one win over the New England Patriots (which came back in Week 1) and another over the Tennessee Titans (clearly the worst team in the NFL). Old friend Chip Kelly is overseeing an offense that’s tied for the second-fewest points scored in the league (shocker).
But it’s also possible that their defense is just better now since they’ve traded for Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson … while also getting DeMarvion Overshown, Malik Hooker, and Shavon Revel back from injury.
We’ll see how the Eagles’ all too often inept offense fares against Matt Eberflus. The Birds were previously limited to 24 points (third-lowest total allowed by Dallas) and 307 yards (second-lowest total allowed by Dallas) back in the NFL Kickoff Game to begin the 2025 season. It’s not easy to expect great things from an Eagles offense that’s managed to score just 26 points over their last two games.
It is more than fair to put your faith in Vic Fangio, however. The Eagles’ defense is playing at a high level. It’s possible that their rejuvenated pass rush can generate pressure on Dak Prescott. Philly’s run defense is also in a better spot than it was earlier this season; they’ve allowed the fifth-fewest yards per rush attempt over the last three games.
Even if the Eagles don’t win this game, they’re still in a strong position to clinch the NFC East. But it would be really nice for the Birds to put a nail in the Cowboys’ coffin. And while wearing their Kelly Green jerseys on the road at AT&T Stadium.
I’m not so sure it’ll be easy for the Eagles. It rarely has been this year. I’ve yet to make my final prediction but early on I’m leaning with taking the points (Cowboys +3.5).
What say you?
