Serge Gnabry is having a true career revitalization. Gnabry has been on a decline for the past four or so years since his elite season when Bayern Munich last won the Champions League. That all changed this season though as the German veteran has finally rediscovered his scoring form. In doing so, he has even earned his spot back with the German national team, where Gnabry has had a significant role in recent matches.
Gnabry recently spoke with Bundesliga to chime on his thoughts about how Bayern
Munich’s wonder season might impact Germany’s outlook at the World Cup in 2026.
“It’s definitely at the back of our minds. Nevertheless, there are still 7-8 months. Everyone is concentrating on staying fit, in-form and having a good season. After the season, [we need to] to shut down a bit and then get going again. It’s in our minds but will get more important during the summer. It’s important to have a good season, good form and to bring that with you. That would be great. Otherwise, you hope to get there and play well,” Gnabry told Bundesliga as captured by @iMiaSanMia.
It would appear as though the Bayern Munich form is giving the players a boost with the national team. Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Serge Gnabry have all seen great performances under Julian Nagelsmann on international duty as well.
Serge Gnabry went to add on that the World Cup is always something special and he’s looking forward to it. And why shouldn’t Germany? While Germany seemingly took a step back over the summer in terms of success, they seemed to have righted the ship and can put themselves back in the contender conversation with some inspiring performances in the coming months.
