Bayern Munich is about to start its 2026/27 season next month, with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup between them and Borussia Dortmund kicking off the season. In the last edition of said competition, Bayern faced VfB Stuttgart in the first of four eventual meetings in 2025/26. Their final meeting was the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin where a Harry Kane hat-trick lit the entire stadium up, along with pyro which got both clubs fined:
I’ll remind you how bad the smoke was during that match with this screenshot from the official highlights video:
Bundesliga clubs are no stranger to setting off pyrotechnics or unfurling impressive tifo displays as a show of support for their clubs. The Bavarians were found guilty in a recent string of infringements in the 2026 calendar year alone.
During the group phase match between Bayern and Sporting CP, the German ultras lit up the stadium with pyros which eventually resulted in a one-match ban and a partial closure of the terraces for the following home game against Union Saint-Gilloise.
