The Portland Trail Blazers have issued an official injury update for shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe. Sharpe tore the meniscus in his right knee during offseason workouts this week. According to today’s press release, Sharpe underwent surgery on Wednesday and will be reevaluated in six months.
Sharpe underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair the meniscus. The procedure was performed by Dr. Kristofer Jones at the UCLA Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
Sharpe will begin his rehabilitation
immediately and will be reevaluated in six months.
Note that this does not indicate that Sharpe will return in six months’ time, just that he’ll be reevaluated.
Sharpe played 50 games for the Blazers last season, averaging 20.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals in 29.4 minutes per game.
