The Detroit Lions (3-2) and Green Bay Packers (4-2) have released their Week 7 injury designations ahead of their Sunday afternoon rivalry game at Ford Field. The Lions are entering the game as healthy as they’ve been in some time, while the Packers are adjusting on the fly to an unanticipated fluky injury to one of their defensive captains.
Let’s take a look at Friday’s injury report and get you up to date with what we know.
Note: Any changes from the most recent injury report will be bolded.
Ruled OUT
- None
No Lions
players have been ruled out of this game.
Questionable
- C Cade Mays (Wrist) — Expected to be removed from IR this week
- S Brian Branch (Achilles) — Expected to be removed from PUP this week
At this point, it’s merely a formality that Mays and Branch remain on the injury report. Despite being listed as questionable, both players are expected to be activated from their respective injury lists (the Lions typically do this on Saturdays) and start against the Packers.
While Campbell has confirmed that Mays is expected to start at center and play the full game, the Lions coach said that they have a plan for Branch but want to be smart about how they use him:
“Yeah, we’ve got a pretty good idea with him. We’re going to let him go here and we’ll be smart, but he’s ready to play.”
Not listed with an injury designation
- CB Rock Ya-Sin (Hamstring)
Ya-Sin missed the Lions Week 5 game against the Cardinals but improved during the bye week and has been practicing in limited form in the lead-up to this week’s game. The Lions may still plan to take it slow with his return-to-play, but it will be tempting to get him on the field again, because his ability to contribute in multiple phases of special teams could boost that unit.
Packers’ injury designations
Full designations coming soon, but the Packers have already ruled out MIKE linebacker Zaire Franklin after he was hit in the shin on Thursday and is unable to play.
