Two future Tigers have earned their way to the Dutch city of Rotterdam for the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Those future Tigers are Reese Esponda of Team USA and Lia Redick of Team Canada.
Hezly Rivera is injured once again. She didn’t do her full floor routine or do a vault in podium training and was seen with a heavily taped left ankle. On Saturday, she withdrew medically. Reese Esponda has had to deal with her own mess. World Gymnastics told USAG that her Barani + double tuck tumbling
pass wouldn’t receive front tumbling credit despite having been credited as such at March’s City of Jesolo meet. She’s now had to downgrade to a front tuck step out + double back and lose 0.3 of difficulty value.
Lia Redick has looked solid in podium training with a Yurchenko 1.5 vault and should help Canada progress to the team finals.
Qualifying will stream for free on Eurovision Sport. Team USA will be in the first subdivision and will compete at 9:00 a.m. Sunday. Canada is in the eighth subdivision and will compete Monday at 10:35 a.m. All finals are expected to stream on Peacock, and it’s not been announced if any of that will be simulcast on the NBCSN channel on YouTube TV. The women’s team final will be Wednesday starting at 12:30 p.m., the women’s all-around final will be Friday starting at the same time, and event finals will be split across Saturday and Sunday starting at 7:00 a.m.
I will be writing an update following the end of qualifying to note if anyone made individual finals, the end of the team competition, the end of the all-around competition if anyone wins a medal, and the end of the event finals.
