Bayern watching Wirtz again? (TEAMtalk)
Florian Wirtz has had a miserable season so far at Liverpool and is drawing ire from Liverpool fans, who have been waiting to see the dynamic attacking talent they thought they were getting when Wirtz signed with the club back in 2025.
Needless to say, it has been a disaster of a move so far. As such, Bayern Munich is rumored to be keeping an eye on Wirtz from a distance:
Bayern Munich are maintaining close tabs on the situation of Florian Wirtz at Liverpool, according to sources close to the German
club.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has endured a challenging period since his high-profile arrival at Anfield, and those familiar with the thinking inside the Allianz Arena believe he would be open to a return to the Bundesliga.
While he has featured regularly under successive managers, his output and influence have yet to match the levels that made him one of Europe’s most coveted young talents. Sources indicate that the ongoing difficulties have led to growing internal discussions at Bayern about the realistic prospects of bringing him back to Germany.
Those conversations remain exploratory rather than official. Bayern officials are said to be assessing squad balance, wage structures and the financial commitment required, given the size of the fee Liverpool paid.
While Bayern Munich is no doubt monitoring the situation, there is a massive difference between monitoring and planning. At this stage, there is no reason to think that Bayern Munich sees an immediate future with Wirtz. In addition, Liverpool is not ready to admit the move was a mistake and give up on the Germany international just yet:
There is an acknowledgement that any approach would face significant obstacles, not least Liverpool’s determination to see the investment succeed. Club sources at Anfield have stressed that there are currently no discussions about a sale.
Having committed such a substantial sum, the Merseyside club remains intent on giving Wirtz the time and platform to rediscover his best form, viewing him as a long-term cornerstone rather than a short-term disappointment.
For Bayern, the interest is logical. The club has long admired Wirtz and previously explored a deal before he chose England. A return would offer the player a familiar environment, reduced scrutiny compared with the Premier League spotlight and the chance to operate in a system that has previously maximised his strengths.
Whether those internal talks develop into something more concrete will depend on Wirtz’s performances over the coming months and Liverpool’s willingness to even consider offers.
The only way Bayern Munich would make a push for Wirtz is if his price dropped significantly at some point in the next three summers. That might not happen, and it also does not seem likely that the Bavarians would be willing to spend a lot of money in order to shoehorn Wirtz onto the roster.
In a nutshell, it would be downright shocking if Bayern Munich made a move for Wirtz at any point before 2028 (unless there is a long-term injury to an attacker or Michael Olise pushes to leave the club).
Bayern among teams tracking Tresoldi (ESPN)
Interestingly, Bayern Munich is reportedly joining Arsenal and Atlético Madrid in keeping tabs on Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi:
Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are all monitoring Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, as reported by Nicolo Schira. The 22-year-old has previously received interest from Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, but Brugge considered the Germany U21 international as non-transferrable. In another post, Schira mentions that Roma have previously seen an offer worth €30 million plus €5 million rejected with Brugge wanting €60 million for the striker, who scored a hat-trick against Internazionale in the Champions League earlier this week.
Tresoldi is no longer a little-known talent. His recent hat-trick helped further thrust him onto the radar for many clubs. If the new deal for Harry Kane goes through (as expected), there is virtually no shot that the Bavarians would be appealing to Tresoldi—at least not yet.
Maybe more importantly, the German national team should start to get a little more aggressive with a player who might be able to give them a stud striker for the next decade.
Falk slams Olmo rumor again (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk wants to assure you that Bayern Munich is not interested in FC Barcelona’s Dani Olmo—at least not right now:
❌It is NOT TRUE: Bayern are considering a €90m [£76.1m] January move for Dani Olmo. I asked around the club and they said there’s no deal being readied for the Spaniard. Bayern won’t go for the player in the winter window. They are aware of Olmo, and he’s been an interesting player for the club in the past. He could become interesting again in future. But in the meantime, there’s no plan for a January transfer.
Porro headed back to Spain? (ESPN)
Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro might have a desire to move back to Spain:
Tottenham Hotspur right back Pedro Porro is considering leaving the Premier League for a return to Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid monitoring his situation. Cadena Ser claims Madrid are leading the race, having monitored him before moving for Denzel Dumfries. Meanwhile, Sport reports that the 27-year-old, who is under contract until 2031, is also of interest to Barca, but the move is dependent on the club freeing up funds, while cheaper alternatives like Iván Fresneda are also being assessed.
Sancho to Getafe? (Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger)
Former Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho could be headed to Getafe:
🔵 Getafe have made an official approach to sign Jadon Sancho (26/🏴) on a free transfer. 🇪🇸
Sancho is discussing the offer with his camp. He could become the next big free-agent signing after Dani Carvajal.
The Spanish club are working on a solution to make the complicated deal happen. First call:

United, Chelsea scoping De Jong? (TEAMtalk via ESPN)
Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong:
Manchester United and Chelsea see Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong as a back-up option in January rather than a priority due to the timing of his return from injury.
