Bayern Munich alum and former Germany international, Niklas Süle, has signed with eighth division side, SV Tiefenbach, in Baden Württemberg in southwestern Germany. The 30-year-old will compete in the Kreisliga Sinsheim, near his first professional club, TSG Hoffenheim.
Süle shared his feelings about his next chapter with Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, “I’m really looking forward to experiencing football from a completely different perspective again – where it’s purely about the game itself and
not about business or money. Two of my best friends play for SV Tiefenbach, and one of them is even the coach. After 13 years in professional football, it’s an absolute gift to share the pitch with my mates again and simply enjoy this wonderful sport to the fullest.”
Before joining Bayern in 2017, Süle played four seasons at Hoffenheim. He was with Bayern until 2022, winning the sextuple in 2020, five total Mesiterschale, two DFB-Pokals, and four German Super Cups. He also won a silver medal for Germany in 2016 and the Confederation Cup in 2017 and earned 49 caps with Germany’s senior team before retiring from international soccer in 2023. After leaving Bayer, Süle joined Borussia Dortmund where he played his final four professional seasons.
What do you think of this move from Süle at his age?
