The NFL’s Pro Bowl is on Tuesday. Or I should say the NFL Pro Bowl Games. Pro Bowl games used to be full contact affairs. Then they slowly started removing some of the contact elements for injury concerns. It started to resemble non-contact football, especially across the line of scrimmage. So they decided to replace it with flag football and a skills competition. It’s a thing that they did out of necessity, but just decided to go full on fun. I would embed this here, but NFL sharing rules refuse
it.
The MLB All-Star Game has a similar issue regarding injuries, mainly with pitchers. There are a raft of rules to protect pitchers, and ones that pitch too close to the Game aren’t eligible to play. So maybe they could adjust the rules or replace the game entirely? Shelving the Game for something else will likely never happen. So maybe they could add something fun anyway.
Blitzball seems pretty fun. Would be fun watching MLB All-Star trying to hit these pitches. Whatever they add, it’s wouldn’t be much. With the Draft, Futures Game, Home Run Derby, and All-Star Game, it’s a pretty full All-Star Week.
