CMLL held an all-women’s show from Arena Mexico on Friday night (Oct. 16, 2026). The feature attraction was Olympia wrestling Skadi for the Universal Championship. For the interest of AEW fans, Dr. Britt Baker DMD made her CMLL debut in tag team action.
Baker teamed with Persephone to battle Tessa Blanchard and Thunder Rosa. The tecnicas exploded for offense when Blanchard leapfrogged over Perse’s spear. Perse collided into Baker in the corner. After more offense, Blanchard executed a Codebreaker
to Persephone out of the corner, then Thunder nailed a running Meteora for the pin. Baker kicked Thunder in the head for the save. The action progressed with near falls and teammate breaking pins. In the end, the rudas prevailed. Persephone speared Blanchard. That gave Baker space for a Pedigree and a curb stomp on Thunder. La Mera Mera was already out cold, but DMD slapped on the Lockjaw submission to get the victory. The crowd wasn’t so hot for this match, as heard in highlight video.
The crowd was definitely hot for the main event. The Universal Championship is a ceremonial title with an annual tournament. This was a collision of powerhouses. Olympia has the muscle, and Skadi has the size. Skadi almost scored the win off a super Samoan drop, but Olympia put her foot on the ropes to break the three-count. In the end, Olympia executed a thunderous powerbomb for victory.
