Brendan Allen kept his title hopes alive in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas with a fifth-round submission victory over Christian Leroy Duncan. With his fourth straight victory in tact, Allen took aim at Dricus du Plessis with a unique type of callout, but will that be the fight he ends up getting, or will Allen continue to have to play defense with his position in the rankings?
Following UFC Vegas 122, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck reacts to the event, the headliner
that saw Allen stop Duncan, what were big takeaways from both fighters, and if du Plessis is the way to go for Allen’s next bout. Additionally, topics include Andre Fili’s nasty knockout of Kai Kamaka III, referees admirably taking points for a change, Malcolm Wellmaker losing his third straight fight being a great example of tampering expectations, and much more.
