New Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is the man who never sleeps. After all, he was busy trimming Miami’s roster down to 53 players over the weekend, just to make seven waiver claims — an NFL high — on Monday, while signing free agent defensive end Malik Herring as well. Following those moves, he stayed busy compiling Miami’s initial practice squad for this season.
Here are the names that have been released according to numerous South Florida media members:
OT — Gottlieb Ayedze
S — Major Burns
TE — Jeremiah Franklin
QB — Mark Gronowski
RB — Marquez Hunter
EDGE — Rodney McGraw
WR — Jalen Reagor
ILB — Cam Riley
RB — Carlos Washington Jr.
Of course, with a new regime — one that is dealing with major cap constraints due to the organization’s $180 million (plus) in dead cap — fans of the Miami Dolphins should expect plenty of shuffling and reshuffling of the team’s practice squad and roster throughout the entire 2026 NFL season.
We will continue to bring you all news regarding the Miami Dolphins as the team prepares for their regular season opener on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, September 13th.
