Apparently CJ Gardner-Johnson wasn’t the only Buffalo Bills defender to spit in the direction of a Las Vegas Raiders player in Week 6.
Like Garnder-Johnson Buffalo’s special teams ace, Sam Franklin Jr., was suspended for one game for apparently the exact same reason:
WIVB’s Josh Reed reported Franklin Jr. denies the allegation and will appeal the suspension. WGR 550’s Sal Capaccio sent a video of the alleged incident, which apparently involved
Raidrs blocker DJ Glaze and Franklin on a fourth-quarter extra-point attempt.
This is bananas. First, that the Bills could have two players miss the next game against the Raiders due to a separate spitting fiascos.
Secondly, because I don’t know how the NFL could glean from either of those All-22 angles that Franklin Jr. indeed spit on Glaze, and I assume they can’t levy suspensions based on a player(s) accusations alone.
But, because the suspension was handed down, I assume the league has other/better evidence.
As of now, not a great look for the Bills on the discipline front.
And they’re being disciplined by the league for it.
