Bayern Munich could have an interesting decision to make when the January transfer window opens. While the club has several internal options who could potentially provide depth on the left wing, there is also a case for adding another player to the position.
Tim Binder has emerged as one of the young attacking options who could receive more opportunities, while Maycon Cardozo is another academy player who could potentially be given a chance with the first team. Serge Gnabry also provides experience
and has shown that he can operate from the left when needed.
The question is whether those options provide enough depth for a team competing on multiple fronts. With the Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFB-Pokal all demanding regular rotation, Bayern Munich may decide that adding a proven left winger would provide more security.
At the same time, signing another player could make it more difficult for Binder or Cardozo to earn meaningful minutes and continue their development.
What complicates the matter is that starter Luis Díaz has been slumping, so if that continues, a backup might need to be someone who can push the Colombian and not just a youngster.
