Gameweek 32 in the Premier League is here, and with the deadline today, I am taking one final look at my Fantasy Premier League team before locking in my decisions. At this stage of the season, every point is crucial, so it is important to get every call right.
I have reviewed my squad, assessed my transfers, captaincy options, and key players I am backing ahead of the deadline. In this article, I will be sharing my GW32 XI and how my team is shaping up ahead of the deadline.
Heading into Gameweek
32, I will be sticking with the team I had before the international break, while rolling my free transfer into next gameweek.
Goalkeeper
For my goalkeeper, I am sticking with Emiliano Martínez away at Nottingham Forest. Aston Villa have been in good form and will want to stay solid after their midweek European win as they push for a top-four finish.
Forest can be tough at home, but Martínez usually makes important saves, and that can still bring points even if the clean sheet is not guaranteed.
Defenders
In defence, I’ve gone with a mix of stability and a bit of differential potential. Gabriel Magalhães is the first name in my backline at home to Bournemouth. I trust Arsenal defensively, especially at the Emirates, and he also gives me that added threat from set pieces, which makes him a strong pick for me.
James Tarkowski is another player I’m sticking with. I like how reliable he is for defensive actions like clearances, blocks, and aerial duels, so I always feel he can return something even when the clean sheet doesn’t come.
Marcos Senesi is also in my team, even with a tough fixture against Arsenal. I still like his threat from set pieces and the chance he can sneak a return. Rounding things off is Malick Thiaw, who I’ve kept in because he looks settled in the Newcastle defence and still offers a bit of upside at both ends of the pitch.
Midfielders
The midfield is where I’m relying on creativity and upside this week. Rayan Cherki is a big part of that as Manchester City face Chelsea. He has been one of the most creative players in the league this season, consistently producing chances and goal involvements for City, including a goal and assist in recent matches.
I’m also backing Morgan Rogers away to Nottingham Forest. Villa are pushing strongly, and this looks like a good fixture for attacking returns. He has been involved in a lot of Villa’s attacking play this season and continues to get into good positions, so I’m hoping this is the week he delivers again.
Harry Wilson completes my midfield with a tough trip to Liverpool. It is not the easiest fixture, but returns to former clubs can sometimes bring moments, I still feel he can create something even against a strong side.
Forwards
Up front, I’m not overthinking it. Erling Haaland is my captain as Manchester City face Chelsea. He’s still leading the scoring charts this season with over 20 goals, so it’s hard to look past him in any gameweek, especially in a big fixture where he tends to step up.
He’s joined by Hugo Ekitike at home to Fulham. He’s already hit double figures for goals this season and continues to be a strong attacking option for Liverpool, so I’m backing him in a good home fixture to add to his returns.
Rounding off the attack is Igor Thiago as Brentford face Everton. He’s currently one of the top scorers in the league, sitting just behind Haaland with close to 20 goals, which shows how important he is to Brentford’s attack.
Bench
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Enzo Fernandez, and Alberto Alderete make up my bench this week, giving me solid cover options if needed.
Which players are you backing this week to make a difference in your FPL rank? I’d love to hear your thoughts, your team setup, and any differential picks you’re going for.
