The Green Bay Packers have no picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, so it should come as no surprise that none of the players on the list of official pre-draft visitors are among the top group of prospects. Still, the list of names so far reported contain a number of players likely to be drafted very late in this year’s draft, if at all, and on Monday another name was added to that group.
Our current list of visitors had seven names before today, with three players ranking as potential top-100
prospects, one slotting in the high 100s (likely a mid-day three pick), and three others with a likely UDFA ranking. Today’s new name falls in with the latter group, but he brings some intriguing athleticism and production with him.
That name is Anthony Smith, a wide receiver from East Carolina University, and beat writer Tom Silverstein provided the report of Smith’s visit.
Smith is an older player who spent four years at North Carolina State before transferring to ECU for the 2024 season. He never broke into the lineup for the Wolfpack but was a starter for the past two years, leading the Pirates in receiving yards each season. 2025 saw him post career-highs with 64 receptions, 1,053 yards, and 7 touchdowns, and he added a 45-yard touchdown on his only rushing attempt.
The numbers out of ECU’s Pro Day for Smith are impressive as well. The 6-foot-2, 197-pounder posted a 40-yard dash time in the low 4.4s to go with a 36-inch vertical and a 3-cone time below the 7-second mark. One source, which is referenced by RAS, clocked him as fast as 4.40 flat in the 40 with a blistering 10-yard split time of 1.49 seconds; those numbers would result in him having an overall RAS of 9.20.
Smith joins Georgia State’s Ted Hurst as wide receives set to visit Green Bay. Although the two prospects are somewhat similar in size and speed — Hurst is a bit bigger, but both were clocked in the 4.4s — Hurst is viewed as a better prospect, ranking in the 80s on the consensus big board. Still, the body type that the Packers seem to be interested in for the wide receiver position this season looks to be consistent with what they have prioritized in the past.
