Another division series for the Atlanta Braves as they head to Florida to face the Miami Marlins for the final time this season. After dropping two-out-of-three against the New York Mets – but still winning the season series – Atlanta will try to do the same with the fish, against whom the Braves have six wins going into Monday’s contest.
The Braves, who still have the National League’s fourth worst record, could catch the Marlins for third in the National League East before leaving Miami in what
would be a moral victory, and not much else, as Atlanta is still 12 games under .500 in 2025.
After flirting with getting in the Wild Card race, Miami has fallen back and it hanging on by the thinnest of fishing lines. While they still have better odds to make the playoffs than the Braves, that’s not saying much, as it looks like both teams will on the couch come October.
It will be an early start on the series finally on Wednesday with the Braves heading from Miami to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies in a four-game set. Atlanta won’t have an off-day again until after they complete this 10-game road trip that concludes with a visit to Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs following the Phillies match-up.
